We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to record daily financial transactions and complete the posting process. The ideal candidate will verify that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, suppliers ledger, customer ledger, and general ledger. This role includes expense claim management, bank statement analysis, credit card reconciliations, and preparing trial balances. The Bookkeeper will also process accounts payable and receivable, handle payroll processing, track payroll data, prepare and file financial documents, assist with tax payments and returns, and maintain a system for organizing company documents. You will work closely with the accounting team to create and analyze financial reports.

Responsibilities

  • Record daily financial transactions and complete the posting process.

  • Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, suppliers ledger, customer ledger, and general ledger.

  • Manage expense claims.

  • Analyze bank statements.

  • Perform credit card reconciliations.

  • Reconcile accounts and prepare trial balances.

  • Process accounts payable and receivable.

  • Handle payroll processing and track payroll data.

  • Prepare and file financial documents, including tax forms.

  • Assist with tax payments and returns.

  • Maintain a system for organizing company documents.

  • Work closely with the accounting team to create and analyze financial reports.

Work Environment

This position is based in the office for 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm. The office is located in Mississauga, Ontario. There is a possibility of overtime. The dress code is business casual. You will report to the Controller and work within a small team consisting of a Controller, AP Associate, and AR Associate. This role offers the opportunity to work on an enterprise-wide ERP upgrade from QuickBooks to QuickBooks Cloud, and the potential to take on more leadership responsibilities and grow vertically within the company.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 – $30.00
