- The Equity Derivatives, Interest Rate and Credit Derivatives Operations team is part of Capital Market Operations partnering with our front office traders and other areas within bank’s Securities globally to mitigate risk for bank and our clients.
- In this role you will be heavily involved in strategic initiatives, managing day to day operations, business development, and operational improvements to drive efficiency, improve client service levels and reduce risk.
Role Details:
- Primary focus will be the support functions of three distinct business lines including the review and approval of all derivative confirmations and the management of any non-standard derivative language in accordance with our procedures, regulatory and ISDA (International Swaps and Derivatives Association) documentation standards.
- In this role you will also be responsible for drafting and overseeing operations of all complex structure derivative trades with the ability to clearly articulate any deviation in your discussions with our business partners in the Front Office traders, Legal, etc.
- This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with in-depth knowledge of derivative products who will be responsible for exception and risk management of the end to end processes for post trade functions that will also include trade confirmation, settlement, trade life cycle events and investigations. Job Accountabilities:
- Excellent understanding of the Derivatives products, the market and currencies that the businesses trade in and, derivative confirmation documentation, processes, workflows, systems/applications, and regulatory reporting functions.
- Your understanding of operational risk management will enable you to effectively identify issues and dependencies while keeping up to date on emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts.
- With your keen attention to detail and accuracy, the review of all documentation is essential along with ensuring all necessary approvals have been obtained prior to issuing and approving all ISDA confirmations.
- You will coordinate and interact with various Operations groups, Front Office Traders, Technology, Legal, etc. to mitigate risks associated with the documentation and support of derivative transactions.
- Ability to handle the day to day confirmation and related exception management processes for Equity, Rates and Credit products.
- Strong relationship building skills to enable you to interact effectively with all levels of management throughout client including our executive team.
- With your innovative and can-do approach, you will build and foster an environment of innovation, highlight inefficiencies, risk and implement improvements to streamline our processes.
Education/Accreditations:
- University or college degree
- Relevant work experience
Other Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
- Self-starter with a high degree of initiative who can learn and adapt quickly
- Experience in leading and/or supervising team members.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task, meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical capabilities.
- Solid understanding of regulatory rules and regulations impacting derivative operations.
- Strong organizational skills with the flexibility to support global businesses across different time zones
- Excellent analytical skills, able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Some software development experience with Python, VBA or JAVA
- Highly organized and well-developed skills in negotiating and influencing with the ability to deal with conflicting points of view and to effect creative and responsive solutions
Must have:
- BA- 1 to 2 years
- Strong stakeholder mgmt. skills
- Testing experience – user acceptance testing (1 to 2 years testing experience)
- Capital market experience 1 year
- OTC derivatives experience in confirmations
Nice To Have:
- Front office – equity derivative and interest rate derivatives experience
- Project mgmt. tools- Jira/ Confluence
- Securities operations
