For this position, persons who are Inuit Land Claims Beneficiaries will be given priority hiring consideration.Job Requirements:In this role, MATRIX is seeking an experienced Housekeeper for our MLA Camp located in the Kitikmeot Region, Nunavut. You are team oriented, motivated, and have acute attention to detail, accuracy, and excellent time management skills. You will play a key role at one of our remote exploration camps by performing all primary housekeeping responsibilities in a timely manner. This position reports to the Camp Manager. Start date for this position is immediate.Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks according to safe work practices and safe job procedures.
  • Report all incidents and accidents immediately.
  • Practice good housekeeping in the work area at all times.
  • Participate in daily Toolbox meetings.
  • Perform cleaning and sanitization of all surfaces, equipment and small wares as per the Food Safety Plan.
  • Wash and replace bed linens as required.
  • Clean and sanitize Dry Areas.
  • Clean common spaces at work site, TV room, dining room, laundry rooms, washrooms etc.

Required Knowledge & Experience

  • Minimum of two (2) years/seasons working in a remote camp as a Housekeeper
  • Organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • OFA Level 1 is preferred (not required)
  • Highly motivated, team-oriented individual with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work a rotational schedule (3 weeks on / 3 weeks off, 12 hour days)
  • Physical ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds, safely.
  • Able to lift and move heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time, and perform physical labor.
  • Able to maintain a high level of performance over a 10 – 12 hour shift.
