Our primary goal is to hire local whenever possible to support the local communities where we operate.MATRIX is a drug and alcohol-free company; with over 250 employees annually, we offer excellent career advancements for all skillsets.MATRIX is seeking Labourers for a 3 to 6 week temporary assignment, shovelling snow, and manually clearing snow to help prep a construction site in Bathurst Inlet Nunavut. Due to the remote access to the job site, resourcefulness will be a key aspect to the success of this role. You are team oriented, motivated, and have the physical stamina to work outside in extreme temperatures, for a full 10 hour shift.This position is fully remote, in camp. Charter flights to and from camp are provided, as well as all food and accommodations once in camp.Requirements:

  • Qualifications or proficiency with the following:
  • Previous experience working in a remote camp setting
  • Previous experience in manual labour, shovelling, snow removal etc. is required.
  • Construction experience a definite asset.
  • Must be patient, flexible and adaptable.

Requirements:

  • Must be capable of sustained, intensive Physical labour, manual snow removal using shovels, picks and scrapers, is required.
  • 2 years past experience as a Labourer in remote settings is desired.
  • Level 1 First Aid Certification or equivalent 2-day course – is an asset.
  • This is a very Physically demanding job. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs is required.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in the Arctic, extreme cold temperatures (-40) and limited visibility at times.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are needed.
  • Positive attitude and a desire to help your team succeed, must be motivated, hard-working and able to take directions.
