As Case Coordinator, you will work closely with the Manager, Curriculum & Learner Affairs, while also supporting the Associate Dean, Clinical Affairs & Professional Values, and their delegates on the review and management of highly sensitive and confidential matters. These matters will primarily involve complaints related to breaches of professional standards, as well as issues of discrimination, intimidation, and/or harassment, from learners and faculty within Temerty Medicine. Working in close collaboration with the central university’s Offices of University Counsel and Safety and High Risk, you will be entrusted with providing case coordination for reviews and investigations of complaints received. Your expertise working with administrative tribunals and within a procedural fairness framework, and your demonstrated understanding of how issues of equity, diversity, inclusion, Indigeneity, and accessibility may impact reviews and investigations will ensure psychological safety and fairness for all parties.

Essential Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field (e.g., Law, Psychology, Public Health, Human Resources, Industrial Relations) or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Graduate degree preferred
  • Minimum five (5) years relevant experience, including significant experience with investigations and case management
  • Demonstrated experience implementing natural justice and procedural fairness principles
  • Experience working with diverse populations including demonstrated effective consultation skills with designated groups
  • Experience with and understanding of trauma-informed and EDIIA-informed approaches
  • Demonstrated experience supporting committees and managing multiple projects simultaneously, effectively prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines, managing deliverables and following through on action items in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience producing statistics and reports for presentation and developing educational and training materials
  • Experience identifying risk and mitigation strategies, and opportunities for process improvement
  • Demonstrated experience supporting, facilitating and advising senior leaders through complex processes
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite; familiarity with case management software
  • Excellent oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills, including strong advisory skills
  • Strong assessment and service planning skills
  • Excellent analytical skills, including supporting data collection in sensitive subject areas, and ability to understand and synthesize information/statistics into comprehensive and actionable reports, identify trends and make recommendations that support more inclusive practices
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, tact, and discretion in handling sensitive information and client interactions with professionalism and confidentiality
  • Demonstrated initiative and organizational skills, with a strong focus on time management, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proven commitment to equity, diversity and inclusivity
  • Demonstrated understanding of employment-related legislation (e.g., Ontario Labour Relations Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Human Rights Code, Employment Standards Act).
