Login to your McGill Workday account and apply to this posting using the Find Jobs report (type Find Jobs in the search bar).Max Bell School of Public PolicyCasual Research Assistant on Wilson Centre ProjectUnder the supervision of Vincent Rigby (Slater Prof. of Practice), successful candidates will assist in the further development of the partnership program with the Wilson Centre in Washington DC.The RA duties will focus on four key areas:Assist in the establishment of a Canada-US “second century commission”Assist in the strengthening of the Canada-US China CommissionAssist in the creation of a Wilson internshipAssist with research/writing assignments and other initiativesDuties/ResponsibilitiesResearch potential members, produce work plans and elaborate budgets to assist in the development of the standup of the second century commissionResearch and identify related topics of interestProvide logistics support to help build the secretariatOrganize sessions with stakeholders for the Canada-US commission on ChinaResearch, build and deliver agendas to support activities and curriculumAssist in establishing a Max Bell internship at the Wilson Centre, providing research to identify scope of program, specific requirements and funding opportunitiesPerform other research/writing, and administrative tasks as neededQualificationsStrong writing and analytical skillsAttention to detail and excellent organizational skillsAbility to work independently and meet deadlinesAcademic or professional interest in international relations with a focus on the Canada-US partnershipStrong engagement skills and experience in organizing academic and professional programs, panels, and working documentsDuration of Contract: March-15-2025 to June-15-2025Average Hours of Work: 5 hours per weekTotal Hours for Contract: 100 hours over 3 monthsSalary: $25/per hourYou must be a current MPP student at the Max Bell School of Public Policy.Please submit a CV and statement of interest through Workday.Hourly Salary: $25.00Hours per Week: 5 (Part time)Location: Sherbrooke 680Supervisor: ProfessorPosition Start Date: 2025-03-15Position End Date: 2025-06-15Deadline to Apply:This position is covered by the Association of McGill University Research Employees (AMURE) collective agreement.McGill University hires on the basis of merit and is strongly committed to equity and diversity within its community.
