Together, let’s sail towards a brighter, more sustainable future with Maersk.Key Responsibilities:Ensure compliance with customs regulations in Canada (CBSA), and other jurisdictions as applicable.Classify goods using the Harmonized System (HS/HTS) and maintain accurate product master databaseManage country of origin determinations, valuation, and duty mitigation strategies (e.g., drawback, bonded warehousing)Monitor and interpret changes in international trade laws, including sanctions, export controls, and free trade agreements (e.g., USMCA/CUSMA, CPTPP, EU FTAs)Conduct internal verification audits to ensure compliance with customs regulations.Identify discrepancies and areas of non-compliance, and recommend corrective actions.Develop and implement audit procedures to continuously improve compliance processes.Monitor and interpret changes in customs regulations and trade laws.Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on global customs procedures and regulatory updatesEnsure all import/export documentation is accurate and complete.Maintain comprehensive records of customs transactions and compliance activities.Prepare reports and summaries for management review.Collaborate with customer if needed to assess tariff impacts of productWe are looking for:5 + years classification experience in a variety of productsExtensive knowledge of GIR’sKnowledge of OGD requirementsKnowledge of SIMA, Excise tax and dutyRulingsCustomer onsite supportStrong excel and Microsoft suite knowledgeAmends and refundsCompany Benefits:MedicalDentalVision401k + Company MatchEmployee Assistance ProgramPaid Time OffFlexible Work Schedules (when possible)And more!Pay Range: $70,000-75,000 CAD*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location.
