What you’ll be doing
You will join CIBC’s Identity and Access Lifecycle Operations team as a Consultant, Information Security to monitor, analyze, review, and remediate access to CIBC’s technology. You will support the execution of our team’s mandate by effectively analyzing and resolving complex identity & access related requests.
A key activity is leading the Functional and Fire ID Compliance Processes, as well as the Transfer Campaign Process. You will partner with internal stakeholders to remediate security incidents related to identity and access management. Your efforts will help us ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
You will identify needs and contribute to governance initiatives by bringing expertise gained in the field around practical security governance, in the development of CIBC policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines; develop guidelines for the usage, control, maintenance and compliance of information and computer resources.
You will provide technical expertise in development and support of all activities, processes, procedures and tools used for validating and insuring the integrity of information security. This can include gap analysis of existing process/procedures, development/maintenance of clear training/work level instruction documentation, review and update of controls and supporting documentation, coordinate and maintain currency of all knowledge related to the Life Cycle Management of Privileged IDs.

How you’ll succeed

Identity Administration – You will drive the identity management and process effectiveness in security processes. You know the right tools to be able to remediate noncompliance. You understand and follow Identity and Access Management (IAM) processes. In this role, you will supervise and implement identity administration initiative and projects to increase security of our processes.

Consulting – You will be responsible for collaborating with projects and other technology or business partners to create and execute access management for new/existing infrastructure, aligning with Identity & Access Management (IAM) initiatives and related policies, standards, and procedures to help enhance our information security posture. Assist other teams in investigation of potential security incidents and provide recommendations to remediate.

Reporting and Metrics – Identify metrics thresholds and business rules for measuring data quality and ensuring adherence with bank and regulatory standards. Utilize creative thinking to modify or select the most suitable approach that results in providing CIBC with optimum solutions to business issues/challenges. This includes performing specific data or analysis based on business user requests and contribution to automation of reporting requirements, design documents for data quality & data management.

Process Improvement – Recommend solutions to enhance processes, eliminate risks, and improve the speed and quality of key services to our partners. Apply appropriate tools to perform problem determination and root cause analysis; identify bottlenecks, redundancies and vulnerabilities of existing processes as they relate to identity and access management.

Project Support – Support projects to completion within required timelines ensuring appropriate artifacts. Ability to summarize findings and recommendations in a concise manner. Achieve this through cross functional team collaboration while championing CIBC values and striving to enhance our security posture.
Who you are

You can demonstrate experience in Information Security. It’s an asset if you have experience with control, compliance, audit testing and provisioning or experience in advancing continuous improvement agendas including process documentation is an asset. Experience with reporting tools is an asset.

You have a degree/diploma in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field. Experience with Privileged Identity Management tools or allAccess (SailPoint IdentityIQ) is an asset. Experience with ID creation/remediation on multiple infrastructure platforms such as UNIX, WINTEL, MSSQL, Oracle, DB2, Sybase, AS400, Active Directory is an asset.
