Job Description:In order to ensure your application is received by NAIT for thorough review and consideration, please apply directly through our Careers site atWorking within the Business and Productivity Portfolio, contract Facilitators will deliver training courses and programs to external organizations/clients and students, and internal NAIT staff. Instructors are being recruited to teach in the business program for courses with a legal component. Candidates must have some weekday daytime availability and must be willing to teach in person at the NAIT main campus.The successful candidates will possess experience and subject matter expertise relating to small business law and workplace legislation. If the candidate also has mediation/negotiation training and experience that is also desired, but not required.Ideally candidates will have taught courses and workshops previously and have an active learning focus as part of their course delivery capabilities. Courses are delivered during the day during the week.Please be sure to specify your weekday daytime teaching availability (when, how often) in your submission.Responsibilities:Provide direct instruction utilizing appropriate instructional strategies to maximize student motivation and learning in a skill-building environment.Utilize appropriate education technology for communications and presentations.Maintain professional ethical relationships with students and colleagues; respond professionally to student issues and concerns; submit marks/records promptly.Qualifications:A law degree plus 5 years or more of experience in the areas described in the posting, formally trained paralegals with 10 years of experience may also be considered.A conflict resolution certification would be an asset.Experienced with the training and facilitation of adult learners in a face-to-face and online environment using a variety of engagement techniques.A NAIT Training and Instructional Development (formerly BMI) certificate would be a definite asset.Skilled in MS Office suite, MS Teams and other collaboration tools.Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).Candidates selected for an interview will be required to prepare and present a lesson on a provided topic.We thank all applicants for their interest in NAIT as an employer, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.For those individuals who have held previous contracts with NAIT, please ensure that you re-submit your expression of interest through this process for further consideration.Please submit a resume and cover letter to be considered for this opportunity.About NAITWe are proud to have been named one of Alberta’s Top Employers for 13 consecutive years.
