Work That Matters, People Who Care.Job DescriptionWHAT’S THE JOB?The Lunch/Dinner Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking and serving meals family style according to the posted menu, under the direction of the Chef and Sous Chef.This is a short-term contract between June-August, requiring the individual to remain at the lodge for the full duration. All travel, accommodations, meals, snacks and beverages are provided.Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing, cooking and serving scratch made meals family style according to the posted menu, under the direction of the Chef and Sous Chef, including soups, sandwiches, pastas and proteins
• Adhering to all food safety standards, ensuring proper handling, storage, and sanitation of ingredients and equipment
• Monitoring and recording temperatures for food items, as well as logging all necessary information to maintain compliance with health and safety regulations
• Removing all used pots, pans, utensils, etc., to ware washing area
• Performing end-of-shift cleaning, sweeping, and mopping of workstation

Physical Demands:

• Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
• Climb ladders and stairs
• Stand, walk, squat, kneel or sit according to task for extended lengths of time
• Perform repetitive hand work requiring full use of both hands
• Work with arms above shoulder height

QualificationsWHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the food service industry
• Valid Food Safety certification is required
• Possess strong leadership abilities, exceptional knife skills, and a robust skill set in cooking from scratch in large volumes
• Ability and desire to work independently with minimal supervision, and as a team player
• Capacity to stand for long periods of time, able to lift, carry, and move heavy items, such as pots, pans, cases of ingredients
• Passion for the outdoors with the ability to commit to the full duration of the work term while remaining at the lodge for the full duration
• Ability to successfully complete a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) level 3

Work schedule and remuneration:The Lunch/Dinner Cook will remain at the lodge for the full duration of the contract between June 20 – August 22 (approx.). All travel, accommodations, meals, beverages and snacks are provided. You may be required to work nights, weekdays, weekends, and general holidays.
