Your opportunity:

Reporting to Manager, Residence Life, the Coordinator, Residence Education Programs (CREP) is a live-in position that works to createa positive living and learning environment for New College residence students.

The incumbent is responsible for developing learning outcomes, residence programs and supports for residents; assisting with the selection, training and supervision of Residence Dons and other student-staff; advising student leaders; supporting students and facilitating referrals. Additionally, they will collaborate with the Manager, Residence Life in creating the overall vision, strategy, and implementation of a residence curriculum.

Hours of Work: Regular office hours Monday to Friday. Regular evening and weekend work to coordinate operations and support students living in a 24/7 residence environment. Participate in on-call rotation for emergencies.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and implementing components of curricular and/or co-curricular programs and activities
• Planning and overseeing the implementation of an evaluation framework for programs and initiatives
• Facilitating educational workshops and seminars
• Advising students on co-curricular, academic and personal matters by providing options and consequences incorporating personal circumstances impacting academic success and an understanding of an individual’s background
• Screening and making referrals to academic advising and learning skills programs and other resources or services
• Developing strategies that maximize outreach to students
• Training and coaching student life staff and student leaders
• Ensuring others adhere to established risk management protocols during University events

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
• Minimum four (4) years experience in undergraduate programming and student engagement activities in the student residences.
• Experience developing and facilitating training and programming, and preparing accompanying resources, for students, student leaders, and student-staff.
• Experience in individual advising, conflict mediation, program development and community standards enforcement in a post-secondary residence community.
• Demonstrated experience with student-centred, developmental approach to working with students, with integration of principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
• Experience advising and collaborating successfully with student leaders and student groups.
• Experience in effectively atcreating learning assessments, resources and presentations.
• Demonstrated experience and ability to lead, train, coach, and motivate student-staff and volunteers
• Demonstrated ability to organize work, establish priorities, and meet deadlines while negotiating unpredictable emergent needs. A high degree of flexibility and adaptability is required.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and achieve established goals.
• Ability to manipulate data, make sense out of data and tell meaningful stories from data.
• Ability to exercise tact and sound judgment in dealing with others and difficult issues.
• Ability to solve problems in accordance with established procedures while under pressure.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Assets (Nonessential):

• Master of Teaching or Master of Education in Curriculum, Teaching & Learning preferred.
• Experience with StarRez and Microsoft Office, or equivalent.
• Experience maintaining databases and Microsoft PowerAutomate.
• Demonstrated ccommitment to improving and enhancing the residence experience.

USW Pay Band 12 — $79,874. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $102,147. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
