Responsibilities:
- Open core boxes every morning and manipulating core boxes for geologists and for storage purpose
- Measure off core in core boxes
- Cut or break core samples, bag, and prepare them for shipping according to established sampling procedures.
- Maintain logs of samples cut and sent
- Label core boxes (dymo)
- Organize storage area, and create and maintain an inventory list
- Complete technical manipulation of drill core
- Assist geologists in logging activities
- Support the maintenance of tools and buildings
- Manage equipment and vehicles inventory (ATVs, snowmobiles, trucks)
- Manage drill core and rock samples inventory
- Kept interior and exterior of core shack clean and safe and keeps good housekeeping standards in his work area
- All other tasks related to the core shack operation and surface exploration programs
Requirements:
- Physical ability to manipulate charges of about 50 pounds regularly
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation
- Experience in sawing core and core shack duties is considered an asset
- Geotechnical logging experience considered an asset
- Highly organized and motivated
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team
- Good written and oral communication
