Here’s the scoop – Summary
The Corporate Supply Chain Coordinator will be an individual contributor responsible for analyzing critical ingredient inventory business data and turning it into actionable information. This individual will also be responsible for the onboarding and commercialization of new direct suppliers. A key responsibility of this role is the tracking of key imported ingredients from their shipping ports all the way to the respective kitchens. This position will support the Ingredient and Packaging Management team to make strategic decisions regarding inventory positions as it relates to ingredients and production plans. The Corporate Supply Chain Coordinator will be a “key” business partner in managing the ingredient inventory levels in outside warehouses and supporting necessary import processes. This position will also help keep our suppliers, pipeline inventory and outside inventory warehouses in line with Champion’s production and forecast fluctuations.
This position is based out of corporate head office in Edmonton, AB on a hybrid work schedule.
What a typical day looks like:

Managing the commercialization of new Direct Suppliers
-
Creating or Assisting in the submission of import regulatory documentation.

Coordination and management of start up loads.

Coordination and tracking of all containers/loads between New supplier and CPF.

Ensuring commercialization is on track and provide weekly updates to Kitchen and larger Supply Chain team.

Supporting all Kitchens as needed in managing critical ingredient shortages.

Collecting and analyzing forecasts and supply chain data to formulate recommendations with focus on improved inventory turns, on hand inventory in warehouses, importation process efficiency, and mitigating Supply Risks.

Coordinating with other professionals to implement changes and new systems.

Assist in implementing ingredient optimization projects (e.g. inventory turns, reduction in transportation and handling costs).

Support Kitchen Supply Chain Managers with inventory performance and benchmarking processes.

Help foster trusting relationships with business partners.

Track KPIs and report on Ingredient and Packaging supply chain inventory performance.

Evaluate fluctuating sales demands and forecasts and inform suppliers, and adjust inventory levels accordingly.

Establishes and maintains departmental procedures and practices to ensure efficient operation and continuous improvement.

Help create, evaluate, and award RFx events.

Perform other job duties or tasks, as required.
What are we looking for?
-
Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business, or Finance.
-
3 to 5 years’ experience in Purchasing or Production Management role.

SCMP designation considered an asset.

Familiarity with Supply Chain Management (SCM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) software.

Demonstrated understanding of supply chain inventory control and logistics concepts and theories.

Strong knowledge of current laws, ordinances, and regulations pertaining to corporate purchasing practices and importation of goods.

Good leadership abilities with a well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, people management, and team building skills.

Strong mathematical skills with ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages and averages, inventory control methodologies with strong analytical skills and interpretive skills, and good understanding of forecasting.

Travel may be required.

Work hours may include extended days and weekends, as necessary.
