Emphasis will be placed on developing the ability to demonstrate ethical and responsible professional behaviour in the performance of duties across all professional competencies. Final transition to showcase working professional portfolios will be addressed.Course Credits: 3Number of positions available: 1This course is not Team taught.Teaching Qualification Requirements:
Education:MA in a relevant field (i.e., K/Elementary and/or Secondary teacher and/or principal)PhD or equivalent in a relevant field is an assetExperience:Expert knowledge and experience in:Classroom practices (lesson planning, Universal Backward Design, classroom management, assessment, ethical and professional practice)The Quebec Education program (QEP)Familiarity with the professional competencies specified by the Ministère de l’ÉducationTeaching in the Quebec elementary/secondary school systemOther:Previous successful experience teaching similar course(s) to pre-service teachers an asset.Knowledge of the impact and proven record integrating pedagogical approaches anchored to equity, diversity and inclusionFamiliarity using myCourses, ZOOM and other similar online platforms to facilitate quality teaching and learning experiencesFamiliarity teaching blended classes is an assetFamiliarity with the application of a variety of digital teaching and learning toolsRequirements include:Commitment to working with a team of committed and engaged instructors.Must be available to attend course coordination and planning meeting in advance of course start dateA commitment to working collaboratively in planning and delivering the course, to achieve l’approche programme (as mandated by CAPFE)Posting Period: 2 daysHiring Unit: Department of Integrated Studies in EducationCourse Title: Fourth Year Professional Seminar (K/Elem).Subject Code: EDEC 405 002Location: EDUC 539Schedule: Tuesdays & Thursdays 11:35 am-02:25pmDeadline to Apply: 2024-12-21McGill University hires on the basis of merit and is strongly committed to equity and diversity within its community.
