Department of Integrated Studies in Education (DISE)Course Title and Course Number:EDEC 612-001 – Digital Media & LearningThis course addresses emerging theories, pedagogies, and practices related to youth learning through digital media and online participatory cultures. Through direct engagement with multiple forms of digital media and youth, students will consider implications for teaching and learning within and beyond schools.Term: Summer 2025Course Credits: 3Number of positions available: 1This course is not Team taught.Course Schedule: MTWR, 9:05AM-12:55PMCourse Location: EDUC 437Teaching Qualification Requirements:EducationPhD (in exceptional cases, PhD candidates and master teachers with an MA with extensive relevant experience will be considered)ExperienceExpert knowledge of and experience in course content, (as per current e-calendar description) and including knowledge of 3-portfolio design (if course section includes MATL students)Knowledge of the Quebec Education program (QEP)Familiarity with the 13 professional competencies specified in the Ministère de l’Éducation (if course section includes MATL students)Experience teaching in the Quebec school systemPrevious successful experience teaching similar course(s) at the university levelOtherA commitment to working with a team of committed and engaged instructorsMust be available to attend course coordination and planning meeting in advance of course start dateOther information:Course dates: July 2, 2025 – July 17, 2025Contract Start Date: 2 weeks before course start date.
