Addressed through the development of professional competencies.Term: Summer 2025Course Credits: 3Number of positions available: 1This course is not Team taught.Course Schedule: MTWR, 1:05PM-4:55PMCourse Location: EDUC 433Teaching Qualification Requirements:EducationMaster educator with an MA in a relevant field (i.e. Curriculum studies, Curriculum & instruction, Educational Leadership or other relevant degree) and/or extensive relevant experience as a school educator/pedagogue/community educatorPhD or equivalent in a relevant field is an assetExperience1. Expert knowledge of:Implications of intercultural/multicultural, global, environmental, and social justice and their impact on critical thinkingCritical pedagogy as well as its critiquesConnections between pedagogy and student resistanceCritical considerations of education and the practice of teaching in the context of ongoing colonialism and calls for reconciliation and social justiceTrends in contemporary Canadian education in light of a critical pedagogy2. Previous successful experience teaching similar course(s) at the undergraduate or graduate level3. Experience as a master teacher/instructor in the Quebec educational system, school administrator, institutional leader, and/or community leader with clear connections to critical pedagogy4. Familiarity with the 13 professional competencies specified by the Ministère de l’ÉducationOtherKnowledge of the impact and proven record of integrating pedagogical approaches anchored in equity, diversity and inclusion.Familiarity using myCourses, Zoom, and other similar online platforms to facilitate quality teaching and learning experiencesFamiliarity teaching blended classes is an assetFamiliarity with the application of a variety of digital and pedagogical teaching and learning toolsOther information:Course Dates: August 6, 2025 to August 21, 2025.Contract Start Date: 2 weeks before course start date.
