Title: Senior Donor Impact Specialist
Employee Working Location: Partially Virtual / Hybrid (Canada)

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Creative Services and Donor Impacts, the incumbent will support the Canadian Red Cross, Donor Experience team in the creation of content and storytelling of donor communications across fundraising relationship channels, and external donor impact reports. The incumbent will be responsible for developing, collecting, refining, and curating society-wide messages for donor (and prospective donor) audience. Such communications include but are not limited to:
- Donor Reports
- Case for Supports
- Milestone Appeal Reporting
- Stewardship Communication touch points
In this role, you will:
- Be the Lead writer/content creator on the production of high-impact donor communications for specific donor audiences
- Be the main contact for the Major Gifts and Transformational Giving Fundraising team, to work collaboratively on brief development, writing lead, planning and status progress reporting.
- Ensure a consistent and cohesive strategy and tone of voice in the creation, development and execution of donor communication products that support the Red Cross’ relationships with specific channel focused donor segments
- Help generate and maintain style and tone guides for writing by fundraising channel
- Work closely to collaborate with other copywriters and creatives to create engaging donor-facing material
- Work with internal and external stakeholders needed to complete materials (Humanitarian Services and Communications for content/data collection and review/feedback processes)
- Proactively develop a deep content knowledge and ensures adherence to organizational messaging and encourages demonstration of Canadian Red Cross’s depth, breadth, and impact through exciting and inspiring stories.
- Builds partnerships with communication colleagues across Philanthropy and organization wide to ensure coordination and inclusion of society-wide messaging and content
- Identify improvement opportunities for the Creative Services and Donor Impact team and in CRC policies, processes and procedures to drive value for our donors
- Work with stakeholders both within Philanthropy and outside of the department to project manage improvement opportunities through to completion, including tracking of results of change
- Work closely with stakeholders to rectify any donor-facing issues in a timely, comprehensive and donor-centric manner
- Participates in appeal planning, preparation and response, as required, including on-call rotating weekend roster.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Philanthropy, Journalism
- Strong storytelling aptitude with ability to turn data into stories and stories into convincing data points.
- 6 – 8 years of progressive, relevant experience in fundraising content, content strategy, development and execution
- One to three years working in customer service or donor relations in a supervisory capacity, preferably in a Contact Centre environment
- Demonstrated track record of providing strategic direction in the development of best-in-class engagement materials to donors, customers, clients, employees or a mix thereof
- Superior knowledge of philanthropy and marketing principles as they relate to cultivation, solicitation and stewardship
- Excellent management and team building skills with demonstrated supervision and leadership qualities, superior interpersonal and public relations skills, tact and diplomacy
- Excellent organizational, planning and hands-on implementation skills
- The ability to manage effectively in a changing environment with multiple conflicting demands and priorities
- Passion for driving results, with a bias for action
- Commitment to the Principles of the Red Cross Movemen

- Experience handling escalated issues from clients/customers/donors

- Experience in fundraising or a charitable organization would be an asset.

- High level of proficiency and accuracy in Microsoft Suite & video conference such as Zoom, Teams, Sharepoint etc.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask with considerable attention to detail

- Ability to effectively develop strong cross-functional working relationships, evidenced by a track record of teamwork and collegiality, building relationships within and beyond the Philanthropy department
