Each Teaching Assistant (TA) will play a key role as a guide for a maximum of 25 students, helping them with the planning, implementation, and critical reflection of their individual projects. This role is primarily mentor-based and formative.ResponsibilitiesLaunch workshop (5 hours): Co-facilitate an introductory workshop on self-directed courses and the uOCompétences framework.Personalized guidance:Support students in defining, planning, and carrying out their experiential learning project.Provide five individual mentoring sessions (2.5 hours/student).Assessment of deliverables: Read and provide feedback on three deliverables: proposal, interim report, final report (2.5 hours/student).Active participation:Attend regular coordination meetings with the responsible professor (approximately 10 hours).Participate in course evaluation mechanisms (reflective journal, survey, discussion group).Required training:Complete a brief training on self-directed courses, reflective learning, and experiential mentoring.Required qualificationsBilingualism (oral and written) in French and English.Relevant training or experience in student support or professional development.Good understanding of experiential learning or the uOCompétences framework (an asset).Experience in mentoring, tutoring, CO-OP roles, or career development at uOttawa (an asset).Additional Information and/or Comments:All University of Ottawa employees are required under provincial law to successfully complete all mandatory legislated training offered by the University.
