Duties to include:

  • Creation of guest biographies, show notes, bibliographies, etc. for weekly (or semi-weekly) podcast episodes,
  • Web development & editing,
  • Creation, development, and/or location of images in the public domain,
  • Writing for posts related to social research methods,
  • Monitoring and posting to the Doing Social Research Facebook Group,
  • Promotion and engagement on social media including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok and/or X (and possibly others)
  • SEO strategy development and implementation
  • Handling correspondence, communicating with guests
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum qualifications– graduate student in sociology and/or feminist and gender studies (doctorate preferred);– coursework or research experience in feminist epistemologies and qualitative research methods;– Familiarity with various social media platforms and experience of using them;– Knowledge of search engine optimization;– Excellent command of written and spoken English;– Must show initiative and be able to work independently;– Highly motivated, reliable with excellent organizational and time management skills;– Experience in education and/or research outside the Canadian, American, Australian, British or other Western European context is considered an asset.Work will be done remotely and on CampusAdditional Information and/or Comments:All University of Ottawa employees are required under provincial law to successfully complete all mandatory legislated training offered by the University.
