Identify and address challenges and opportunities as we envision the transformation of the healthcare system into a digital, patient-specific/patient-centered system. Design the process of healthcare information system (HCIS) acquisition, development, implementation, and support. Discuss critical aspects of healthcare delivery workflows and understand how an Intelligent HCIS changes the workflows—and how to manage that change. Understand major algorithms for healthcare applications and IT components in representative clinical processes. Discuss various data processing techniques on healthcare data sets and engage in data analysis and visualization to create an Intelligent Clinical Decision Support System. Digitization of the disease processes, diagnostic modalities, and treatments associated with common disease processes.Position Purpose:Provide teaching assistant to the course supervisor, direct contract with student, marking and proctoring.Allocation of hours and other duties will be specified by the supervisor.What you will bring:Experience in biomedical engineering and the course topic.Excellent communication skills.Must be available in person for the duration of the session A.Must be available to proctor the final exam.Contract dates: From May 1 to August 15, 2025.Please note that the teaching method will be delivered in person.It is possible that the method could change due to health measures or other reasons.Additional Information and/or Comments:All University of Ottawa employees are required under provincial law to successfully complete all mandatory legislated training offered by the University.
