Additional information about the Company can be found at .Job Summary:As a Customs and Traffic Coordinator, you are responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient movement of goods across international boarders while maintaining compliance with customs regulations. You will coordinate all logistic and traffic activities, facilitating the import and export of automotive parts and components.This is an 18-month contract position.Job Responsibilities:
- Customs Coordination: Prepare and file necessary customs documentation, including customs declarations, import/export permits, and certificates of origin and resolve any issues related to clearance, classification, duties, and taxes.
- Logistics: Work with shipping carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers to ensure smooth transportation and delivery.
- Transportation: Coordinate the transportation of goods (raw materials, parts, or finished products) between suppliers, manufacturing plants, and customers across different countries.
- Supply Chain: Monitor the flow of materials from suppliers to manufacturing facilities to ensure that parts and materials arrive on time for production and identify and resolve any disruptions.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of shipments, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs paperwork.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports on customs activities, transportation status, and inventory levels for management and regulatory bodies.
- Cost Control: Monitor and oversee logistics and transportation costs, finding opportunities to improve cost-efficiency in shipping, storage, and inventory management.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., procurement) to ensure that all logistics and customs processes align with production schedules and customer requirements.
- Customs Support: Act as the primary contact point for any queries regarding customs regulations, traffic management, or shipment status.
- Problem Solving: Resolve any issues related to customs clearance, shipment delays, or compliance violations and any overall unexpected disruptions.
- Risk Mitigation: Implement risk mitigation strategies to avoid delays or issues that could affect the global supply chain.
Job Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Relevant certifications in customs, trade, and/or transportation are beneficial.
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in a logistics, customs operations, or transportation coordination role.
- Knowledge of supply chain management and the movement of goods across borders.
- Experience in the automotive or manufacturing industry is a strong advantage.
- Knowledge of international customs laws, trade regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Prior experience working with customs brokers, freight forwarders, or third-party logistics providers.
- Hands-on experience with customs documentation, classification, and tariff codes.
- Experience with customs documentation, such as commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
- Familiarity with coordinating inventory flows across multiple facilities and managing stock levels to meet production schedules.
- Experience with logistics or transportation management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, TMS systems, etc.).
- Ability to communicate effectively with various internal teams (e.g., production, procurement, legal) and external partners (e.g., customs authorities, freight forwarders, vendors).
- Strong negotiation skills when dealing with suppliers, carriers, or regulatory authorities.
- Strong attention to detail in processing documentation and managing complex logistics tasks.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation, reporting, and analysis.
