This role is crucial in meeting both current client expectations and responding to future market demands.Reporting to the Director, Data and Analytics, the Data Analyst will be responsible to support the maintenance and delivery of analytical solutions, use cases and insights for the Sun Life High Net Worth data journey and future growth. As a member of the Data and Analytics team, the Data Analyst is integral to the success of the team. The Data Analyst partners closely with business partners to understand the business and their needs, and leverages data (internal and external) to provide high impact reports and dashboards to accelerate data driven business decisions. The role is responsible to support business process innovation, the analysis and documentation of business requirements and will participate in a range of data and analytics initiatives across Sun Life High Net Worth teams.What you will be doing

• Participate in sessions with the business to gather requirements and get signoff
• Maintain existing data assets and ensure timely delivery to business partners
• Create data visualizations, dashboards, and reports to support business processes
• Ensure all data assets are thoroughly tested prior to implementation
• Identify trends, patterns, and insights from complex data sets
• Assist with ad hoc data analysis requests as required to support high priority needs
• Maintain business requirements documentation, source to target mappings and other data & analytics related documentation
• Provide training and support to non-technical staff on data interpretation and usage
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and provide data-driven solutions
• Establish automated reporting on key performance metrics (KPIs) and scorecard metrics using Tableau

Who you will be working withThis role is multi-faceted, involving collaboration across various regions, including Ireland, Canada, Singapore, Bermuda, Asia and the US. The successful candidate will work closely with multiple Sun Life High Net Worth teams and leaders across main functions, such as Strategic Delivery, Technology, Product Development, Operations, Finance, Actuarial, Risk, and Compliance. This position requires a versatile and adaptable individual who can navigate the diverse needs and perspectives of stakeholders in different countries and functions to drive the organization’s data and analytics objectives.What we are looking for

• 2+ years of work experience in a Data Analytics role, preferably in the insurance industry

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, engineering or a related field
• Experience writing complex SQL queries to analyze data and provide results to business users or stakeholders
• Experience with VBA and building excel macros
• Comfortable learning new applications and processes quickly with minimal direction
• Data visualization / dashboarding with Tableau
• Data analysis / visualization using MS Excel
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking abilities. Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
• Able to exercise judgement and consistently meet deadlines
• Strong self-motivation and ability to work independently

What will be good to have?

• Knowledge of Insurance or Financial Services industry
• Proficiency with programming languages such as Python, R
• Experience working in an Agile environment

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
