Story Behind the Need

Business group: GBM Data Governance
Project: GBM Data Governance requires additional support on a current project. This project will be building and maintaining ETL scripts to support data quality processes.
Reason for request: Additional support required for short term project

Typical Day in Role

Build and maintain ETL scripts to support data quality processes
Develop data quality rules to support GBM business areas domain(s) as it aligns with requirements.
Support existing data quality processes.
Design and build scalable DataStage Solutions
Identify bottlenecks in Data Processing Pipeline

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:

Strong Knowledge of IBM Infosphere DataStage with at least 4 Years of Hands on Experience.
Previous experience with design and building scalable DataStage Solutions.
Previous experience monitoring DataStage Jobs and identified bottlenecks in Data Processing Pipeline
Prior experience in working with Different Data formats – Flat Files, DB, XMLs, JSON, Python, Hive etc.
Proficient in SQL and Unix commands, scripts.

Nice-To-Have Skills:

Previous Financial Institution Experience an asset
Has knowledge of Data Modeling, Database Design and Datawarehouse Ecosystem.
Prior Test and troubleshooting experience with problems in system designs and processes.

Soft Skills:

Demonstrated ability to be flexible/ adaptable in exercising judgment in a changing environment and to manage competing priorities
Great communication skills are required, as they will regularly be communicating internally and externally

Best vs Average:

The ideal candidate would have strong DataStage experience and be available for a short term project.
