POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Data Management Specialist to oversee the documentation and management of user-defined fields within our systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data management, analysis, and project management, and will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and efficiency of our data fields.

CHALLENGES TO BE MET

• Create and maintain a comprehensive inventory of all user-defined fields, including their names, types, and purposes

• Analyze the usage of each field to document dependencies and identify redundancies.

• Implement methods to identify and eliminate redundant fields or make adjustments

• Establish and enforce guidelines for naming conventions, data types, and field purposes

• Design a workflow for the creation and approval of new fields to prevent redundancy

• Provide training sessions and support to users on the proper creation and use of fields.

• Establish and manage a feedback mechanism for continuous improvement of field management processes

• Think innovatively and explore new ways to meet BDC Capital needs in our systems, ensuring continuous improvement and efficiency

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field

• Proven experience in data management, database administration, or a similar role

• Experience in project management and workflow design

• Proficiency in database management systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL)

• Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel) and techniques

• Experience with visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Google Charts)

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

• Logical thinking and ability to understand field dependencies

• Preferred Certifications: Database Management (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate). Data Analysis (e.g., SAS, IBM, Microsoft certifications). Project Management (e.g., Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM)

• This position requires bilingualism in both official languages, English and French
