POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Data Management Specialist to oversee the documentation and management of user-defined fields within our systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data management, analysis, and project management, and will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and efficiency of our data fields.
CHALLENGES TO BE MET
Create and maintain a comprehensive inventory of all user-defined fields, including their names, types, and purposes
Analyze the usage of each field to document dependencies and identify redundancies.
Implement methods to identify and eliminate redundant fields or make adjustments
Establish and enforce guidelines for naming conventions, data types, and field purposes
Design a workflow for the creation and approval of new fields to prevent redundancy
Provide training sessions and support to users on the proper creation and use of fields.
Establish and manage a feedback mechanism for continuous improvement of field management processes
Think innovatively and explore new ways to meet BDC Capital needs in our systems, ensuring continuous improvement and efficiency
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field
Proven experience in data management, database administration, or a similar role
Experience in project management and workflow design
Proficiency in database management systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL)
Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel) and techniques
Experience with visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Google Charts)
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
Logical thinking and ability to understand field dependencies
Preferred Certifications: Database Management (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate). Data Analysis (e.g., SAS, IBM, Microsoft certifications). Project Management (e.g., Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM)
