Job Description
AECOM Mississauga is hiring a Civil Designated Project Engineer in our Transit & Rail group. The successful candidate will be embedded within Metrolinx’ project delivery team for one of the Lakeshore Rail Corridors in the On Corridor Works program.
On Corridor Works include all work to facilitate train service, including track, civil infrastructure, signalling, electrification infrastructure and electric vehicles, as well as the operations and maintenance of the GO rail network. GO Rail Expansion will transform the transportation network in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area by delivering two-way, all-day service every 15 minutes over core segments of the GO Rail network. System-wide infrastructure upgrades are planned to include: adding tracks, expanding stations, electrification of the rail network, new locomotives and train control systems to enable more frequent service.
The successful candidate is expected to be based at least 3 days/week from the project office located at 130 Adelaide St. W in Toronto, Ontario.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Providing compliance reviews and approving work by others.

Establishing long lasting relationships and acting as trusted advisor within the project team during project execution.

Planning and managing projects and interfaces to ensure project requirements and outcomes are achieved and contractual commitments are met on time and within budget.

Lead and attend regular coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment between all parties.

Ensuring the project’s quality management system and project management processes are applied.

Recommending improvements to design and construction processes and ensuring consistent application across design teams.

Participating in monthly project reviews to review project status, budget, work plan, schedule, and risks.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering + 8 years of relevant experience in delivery of rail and transit projects.

Professional Engineering designation in North America, Europe, UK, Australia or similar jurisdiction
Preferred Qualifications:
-
15+ years of relevant experience in major rail and transit projects.
-
Proven experience managing multiple projects of various types and complexities.
-
Familiar with coordinating interfaces between various design disciplines, including Civil, Structural, Electrical, Mechanical, and Railway Systems.

Self-starter who is able to work with minimum supervision.
-
Excellent communication, organizational and team skills.
-
Strong problem identification and resolution skills.
-
Able to prioritize and multitask on concurrent projects.
-
PMP certification is an asset.
Additional Information
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $125,000.00 – $175,000.00.
