We strive for execution excellence while being direct, humble, collaborative, and inclusive of diverse perspectives.AMD together we advance_THE ROLE:This role is responsible for designing and implementing test plans, as well as analyzing and debugging the results.Brighton is a multimedia IP block that is used with a combined video encoding/decoding design, and to help with video transcoding.THE PERSON:The ideal candidate should have related experience in the diagnostic or verification environments with emphasis on ASIC functional and/or system-level testing. You will be responsible for planning, designing, writing, debugging and optimizing functional and stress tests for the Brighton HW IP.
Must be able to work with hardware architects and logic designers to solve functional issues, and customer support engineers to help resolve testing deficiencies. You are an enthusiastic self-starter, proactive, able to share ideas, and able to provide design verification leadership.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop diagnostics software to bring-up and validate ASIC features on both pre-silicon environment (FPGA, SOC Emulation Platform) and post-silicon system (ASIC and platform)
• Participate in APU/GPU silicon bring up
• Identify and help resolve ASIC, board and firmware issues, provide diagnostics support to external customers and internal engineering teams
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers
• Responsible for execution of programs, multiple projects on the go
• Forward thinker to improve development process and drive innovation
• Able to dive into, understand and debug external code and firmware.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Proven industry experience on driver or embedded SW development and closely interact with HW designers
• Strong mix of large-scale software development ability, hardware understanding and hardware/software interfacing
• Proficient in C/C++ and Object-Oriented programming
• Experience with firmware loading and communication preferred
• Knowledge in System Verilog programming preferred
• Familiarity with source controls systems like Perforce, SVN and GitHub
• Experience with video codecs an asset – AVC, AGVC , VP9, AV1
• Familiarity with Linux, knowledge and experience of device driver or firmware development
• Knowledge of virtual memory, IOMMU preferred
• Hands-on experience with Silicon and Board Bring-Up
• Strong debugging and testing skills
• Strong communication skills

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. In EE or CS or equivalent
