About the Role:

Reporting to the Director, Co-op, Career & Experiential Education (CCEE), the Digital Engagement & Event Specialist is responsible for the execution and management of the CEE digital brand presence and the planning and coordination of CCEE and Centre for Pedagogical Innovation (CIP) internal and external events. The incumbent will create compelling marketing and branding materials to increase student and interested parties’ engagement. The Specialist will be responsible for partner engagement and marketing strategies through the operations of the events and digital marketing offerings.

The Digital Engagement & Event Specialist will:

  • Execute the communications and event strategy through collaboration with unit leads to support the institution’s and CCEE’s strategic priorities;
  • Conduct research and analysis of various event and marketing initiatives that impact student and internal engagement across all operations within CCEE;
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to create content and implement consistent communication strategies;
  • Execute the ongoing engagement strategy, including the development of CCEE collateral to ensure consistency across all departments in the unit and uphold brand standards;
  • Liaise with internal and external support services to reserve and coordinate services required for events;
  • Collaborate with community partners, faculty, and staff in the planning and delivery of events;
  • Attend events and oversee on-site coordination;
  • Organize event-related promotional materials, collaborating with Marketing & Communications as needed on event communications (publications, banners, event signage, posters, email promotions, social media posts, etc.);
  • Manage the CCEE website and sub-sites and establish a content strategy, including daily content creation and maintenance to ensure accessibility;
  • Enhance the CCEE website and social media platforms by creating and utilizing analytics;
  • Provide expertise to CCEE Team members to help with content creation, capacity building and monitoring for their pages;
  • Build a digital brand community for CCEE across various social media accounts;
  • Develop and execute a multi-faceted digital communication strategy to ensure timely publication of relevant news, events, opportunities, and student recognition;
  • Act as the internal lead for CCEE’s Campaign Monitor email management software and ensure internal and external lists are being used and managed properly in accordance with relevant legislation.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree or college diploma in a relevant field (such as Marketing, Event Planning, Communications, Public Relations, Graphic Design or New Media);
  • Content development, professional website, and social media communications experience;
  • Experience managing a brand account and/or event planning in complex environments;
  • Ability to design graphics, ensuring professional appearance and consistency with brand/accessibility standards using a variety of programs/emerging technologies;
  • Strong creativity and visual design abilities;
  • Ability to conceptualize and create videos, including the ability to operate video and audio equipment and edit video content;
  • Detailed knowledge of all social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.), as well as WordPress CMS;
  • Demonstrated ability in planning and coordinating events;
  • Understanding of higher education, networking, and/or career-related events;
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills;
  • Ability to clearly and simply articulate concepts, messages, and strategies;
  • Ability to remain current on new developments in the digital world and learn new technology/systems.

Preferred or Asset Skills:

  • Graphic Design;
  • Professional experience in website management;
  • Professional experience in a post-secondary environment.

Salary and Total Rewards:

  • Job Grade K, Salary Scale ($57,400-$98,400);
  • Target Hiring Range: $57,400-$68,000
  • This position includes full comprehensive benefits including tuition waiver.
