Clean Harbors is looking for a Director of Health and Safety to join our safety conscious team! The Director will manage a team of Health and Safety Managers supporting Operations in the Canada East and West Districts to ensure the continued implementation of the Safety 3-6-5 HS Management System. This position will report to the Sr. Director HS, IS Canada.

Primary office location- Sherwood Park, AB.

  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Working with the Sr. Director, Health and Safety- directly manage a team of Health and Safety Managers supporting multiple Canadian Districts.
  • In coordination with District Leaders, a significant percentage of this role will be to attend and conduct Health and Safety site inspections and audits (“boots-on-the-ground”) to ensure compliance with Clean Harbors Health and Safety Policies, Standards, Procedures, Guidelines and Safe Work Practices.
  • Audit Health and Safety team performance and compliance to Health and Safety Program core elements.
  • Facilitate/ guide and review Incident Investigations.
  • Develop, conduct and/or audit Safety Meetings designed to promote a better understanding of Company/ Client Health and Safety Policies, Standards, Procedures and Guidelines.
  • In collaboration with District Operations Leaders, develop, revise and conduct task-specific risk assessments.
  • Prepare safety reports and presenting the information to management.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
