We advocate for our employees to speak-up, learn, experiment, share, and be part of an where diversity is embraced.ABOUT THE TEAMPSP’s global Legal Affairs department provides legal support and advice to PSP’s internal business partners on investment, governance, regulatory, commercial legal, employment, privacy, cybersecurity, crisis and related matters, and is responsible for overseeing PSP’s privacy, official languages and artificial intelligence (AI) governance programs in collaboration with other internal stakeholders. The Access to Information and Privacy Office is also responsible for responding to and managing external requests received in accordance with applicable laws.ABOUT YOUR ROLEReporting to the Senior Director, Enterprise Affairs Legal Lead and Privacy Officer, as a Director, Legal Affairs, you will be responsible and accountable for:Drafting, reviewing and negotiating PSP’s commercial contracts (primarily technology and professional services) in support of its internal operations and in collaboration with our Procurement, Information Security and Privacy teams, other relevant stakeholders and internal business partners directly or through outsourcingDeveloping and overseeing the outsourcing process for the review of PSP’s commercial contracts and the ongoing refinement and scaling of the contract review process, in collaboration with the Procurement departmentPreparing and updating of templates of commercial contracts and library of clauses for use by the Legal Affairs and Procurement teamsSupporting the Human Resources department by providing legal advice on employment, health and safety, and immigration matters impacting our international operations and collaborating on key initiatives, with the support of external counsel if requiredCoordinating and supervising the legal work performed by approved external legal counsel and junior members of the team worldwide in accordance with internal policies and within the prescribed legal budgetCo-leading and participating in governance and business plan initiativesAssisting the Senior Director, Enterprise Affairs Legal Lead in overseeing these activitiesContributing to the furthering the status of Legal Affairs as an effective and valued business partner within PSPWHAT YOU’LL NEEDA University degree in Law and Member of the Bar Association of any of the Canadian provinces or territoriesAt least seven (7) years of relevant experience as a lawyer in corporate/commercial law gained in private practice or as in-house counsel for a large organizationExpertise in cloud computing (SaaS)/software license, data license, managed services/outsourcing, non-disclosure, professional services, research services, general services, recruitment services and commercial leasing contracts, as well as engagement letters with advisorsExperience in providing non-unionized employment law adviceExperience or interest in Artificial Intelligence laws and governanceKnowledge of privacy lawsExperience in managing or overseeing the work of othersExcellent communication and interpersonal skills with individuals at all levels, including experience with developing strong professional relationships with internal stakeholdersAbility to effectively manage competing priorities and work on numerous filesSound business judgment, adaptability, and demonstrated ability to identify, prioritize, and resolve issues quickly and effectivelyProficiency in English and French (or willingness to learn) (frequent interactions in English with PSP employees based in our offices in Hong Kong, London and New York, and interactions in French with employees in our local offices in Montreal and Ottawa)We offer a tailored employee experience and competitive total rewards and benefits package* designed to attract and retain global diverse talent, reward performance, and reinforce business strategies and priorities.
