Department Overview
Building a World-Class, Diverse and Inclusive Technology Team
TDS Banker Tools Technology team is responsible for building scalable tech to deliver datasets, analytical tools, and workflow automation to front-line bankers. We are looking for a talented Senior Developer/Tech Lead with full-stack development experience and an interest in financial markets and investment banking. The candidate will work on a global team, with concentration in Toronto, New York, and London. They will perform hands-on development building a cross-product data architecture along with web-based BI and workflow automation applications.
Role Responsibilities:
Work with data scientists and UX designers to productionize impactful analytical tools with beautiful data visualizations
Ready to lead the effort, delivery and mentor junior developers
Design and develop solutions to workflow automation challenges across the business
Own a data pipeline from various internal and external sources into our application stack
Become a subject matter expert on our datasets and how the business uses them
Communicate ideas, drive user demos, and work with business stakeholders to refine ideas
Engineer self-contained, reusable, and testable modules and components
Qualifications & Skills:
8+ Years of strong software development experience
Intimate familiarity with web technologies: HTML5, JSON, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Angular
Strong core Java and Spring framework skills
Good knowledge of design patterns with excellent problem-solving skills
Proficiency writing and validating SQL queries. Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
Knowledge of the Microsoft ecosystem, e.g. Azure, Teams, Sharepoint, Office365
Experience with data visualization and reporting web libraries, e.g. D3js, HighCharts, AG-Grid
Experience with data visualization and reporting platforms, e.g. Tableau, PowerBI
Hands on software development experience working on client/server, multi-tier, web-based applications
Professional, precise communication skills with client interaction
Experience with troubleshooting web applications, familiarity with network monitoring and code profiling tools
Knowledge of institutional lending, capital markets, M&A advisory businesses
Education and Accreditation
College/University degree with emphasis on numerical subjects (Computer Science, Engineering, Maths, Sciences etc.)
