Duties and Responsibilities:
Drafting and editing wills;
Managing and/or assisting with the maintenance of the wills vault and addressing all requests pertaining to storing or retrieving wills and other estate planning documents;
Attending client meetings to take notes or to obtain further instructions/ information on the file;
Witnessing and executing documents as required;
Maintaining the wills tickler system;
Maintaining the e-vault;
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience working as an estate planning law clerk is required;
Previous experience working in a law firm or professional services environment;
Proficiency in legal research, document drafting and file management ;
Familiarity with legal practice group software including ProLaw is preferred;
Flexibility to work with changing priorities;
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment;
Ability to work independently and take instruction effectively;
Excellent problem-solving skills;
High level of professionalism and initiative;
Accurate proofreading and editing skills to edit and format documents;
Completion of a Law Clerk Diploma is preferred ;
Demonstrated commitment to professionalism, integrity, and client service.
