Their work also involves partnerships with various organizations such the Calgary Centre for Sexuality, Boyle Street Community Services, Nekem: To Change Something, and the Pride Centre of Edmonton to provide direct services, including crisis intervention, mental health supports, and 2SLGBTQ+ education.The Fyrefly Institute’s programs focus on community outreach, creating affirming spaces, and educational advancement specifically for the 2SLGBTQ+ community through our educational programs, research, advocacy and scholarship opportunitiesPositionThe Fyrefly Camp and Conference Coordinator, reporting to the Programs Manager, will organize and manage Fyrefly Institute events supporting gender and sexual diversity, including Camp Fyrefly and the Alberta Gender Sexuality Alliance Conference. The position may also cover additional workshops and events organized by the Fyrefly Institute. This role involves overseeing event logistics, creating schedules, coordinating with volunteers, and serving as the primary contact for attendees, teachers, caregivers, and presenters. The Coordinator will also collaborate with other Fyrefly locations to ensure consistent programming.This position is part-time, primarily working weekdays and occasionally working evenings and weekends (~21 hours/week). Additional work hours may be required on the day of events.Duties
