Job DescriptionGeotechnical EngineerOur Geotechnical Team in Ontario is expanding and we are now looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to join our team. This position is located in Vaughan, Ontario but we would consider applicants in the greater Toronto area as well. • Our geotechnical engineers work closely with other AtkinsRéalis professionals multiple sectors such as transportation, rail & transit, energy, cities and developments as well as industrial. You will participate on multi-disciplinary teams and projects and will be expected to collaborate on multidisciplinary projects of all scales.
• The successful applicant will be a Geotechnical Engineer with a proven technical and project management track record and a particular focus on the Transportation sector in Ontario. The role will include the execution of complex and major programs, supporting complex proposals, mentoring of junior staff, as well as act as technical reference, and therefore good communication skills are essential.
• The candidate will have a degree in civil engineering or geology with a post graduate qualification in a geotechnical subject and have a minimum of 5 years’ pertinent experience.
• Candidates should have the right flare and ability that will help us develop and expand our infrastructure geotechnics capability by building on the existing portfolio of our rapidly expanding, flexible and outward looking team that can tackle work across a broad spectrum of sectors.

The ideal candidate:

• At least 1+ years of previous geotechnical engineering experience with a Professional Engineering License (P.Eng) in Ontario is preferred.
• A strong academic background with a relevant university degree.
• Proven experience in highways, rail, municipal roads and bridges.
• Experience with the Ministry of Transportation in Ontario is a strong asset.
• Proven experience of acting in an intermediate/senior role in an engineering consultancy environment.
• Project management – experience and understanding of the needs and approaches to the engineering consultancy and design markets, including relationships with clients, and work planning.
• Proven geotechnical design experience.
• Application of Design Standards and Guidelines in a design and ground investigation environment.
• Proven geohazards and geotechnical investigation experience.
• Experienced in general geotechnical numerical software.
• Excellent interpersonal and technical skills and the ability to support the development of teams.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence to liaise with clients.
• Excellent report writing skills with the ability to peer-review and produce quality deliverables.
• A willingness to travel on short assignments both within Ontario and nationwide.

Compensation Range:Expected compensation for this role is between $100,000 – $150,000 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, location, and potential impact on the role.
