Visit us today and check out to see why more people from across the globe are moving here.About the OpportunityReporting to the Manager, Adult Outpatient – Mental Health & Addictions, the Social Worker, as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, is responsible for the delivery of time-limited, evidence-based psycho-social assessments and treatments to adults (19 years and older) with Tier-3 mental disorders. All services are provided within a Stepped Care framework and practice is guided by disorder based clinical care pathways. Each clinician participates in a consultation group to ensure collegial support, accountability and effectiveness of assessments and treatments.The Social Worker ensures that the principles and practices that guide our work such as the mission, vision, values, expected behaviors, the leadership philosophy, organizational health, population health, ethics, safety, quality, partnerships and interprofessional collaboration are integrated within the services they provide and through the messages they deliver.About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:

• Master’s degree in Social Work from a recognized university
• Current registration with the NSCSW
• 2 years related clinical experience required
• Knowledge and understanding of the Diagnostic & Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM)
• Ability to reach a joint formulation with the client and family
• Demonstrated experience integrating various psychotherapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavior therapy, solution focused therapy, and/or motivational interviewing in both individual and group work
• Advanced psychotherapy skills; including in brief therapies
• Demonstrated experience providing group treatment
• Ability to complete mental health assessments using DSM formulations.
• Excellent communication skills
• Awareness of local community resources and agencies would be considered an asset
• Valid Nova Scotia Driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
• Ability to demonstrate effective time management and disciplined self-organization
• Demonstrated comfort and skills working collaboratively with community partners
• Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
