High School Math/Science Teacher/Tutor WantedPassionate about inspiring young minds? Excited to teach Math and Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)? We are looking for enthusiastic and knowledgeable high school teachers/tutors to join our learning centre at Oxford Learning Georgetown. This role is ideal for educators who enjoy working with high school students, are confident in teaching the Math and Science, and are committed to supporting academic growth.Why Join Us?Our programs are fully planned, so you can focus on teaching and connecting with your students. You’ll receive comprehensive training in our teaching methods and philosophy to ensure success in the role.Position Details:

  • Schedule: After-school and evening hours (Monday-Thursday, 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM)
  • Commitment: Ideally, you can commit through the school year, with the option to continue into summer.
  • Location: This is an in-person position. Applicants must be able to commute to our Georgetown location.
  • Screening: Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.
  • Job Type: Part-time
  • Salary: $22 – $24 / hour

We encourage you to apply if you have the majority of the following requirements:Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Science, Education, or a related field.
  • Teaching certification is an asset.
  • Good knowledge of the current Grades 9-12 math and science curriculum, particularly senior math and including, but not limited to, Advanced Functions, algebra, trigonometry and calculus, as well as vectors, physics, chemistry, and biology.

Experience:

  • Teaching or tutoring experience at the high school level.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with students of varying abilities.
  • Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding.
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time.

Responsibilities (Position Details)As a teacher/tutor, you will:

  • Teach small groups (up to 3 students) at different levels in Math and Science.
  • Deliver lessons using our structured methodologies and philosophies.
  • Provide regular feedback and post-session updates for each student.
  • Foster a positive, encouraging environment to build students’ confidence.
