HSW senior manager will provide visible health, safety & wellbeing (HSW) leadership and direction. Provides advice, guidance and assurance to the senior leadership team. Supports the delivery of the business strategy and objectives.You’ll Be Responsible For:

  • In conjunction with the client, developing strategies to ensure HSW industry standards are adopted across all contracts.
  • Collaborating and influence the client team to implement and maintain program, systems, and procedures to achieve cross contract area best-in-class HSW practice.
  • Advising the head of health, safety & wellbeing on strategic HSW matters.
  • To champion program-wide health and safety initiatives and drive their implementation with the alliance partners.
  • Collaborating and advise the client and stakeholders on strategic matters of HSW.
  • Supporting and driving a dynamic lesson learnt and business improvement process for HSW across the program.
  • Producing required reports and input data (reporting protocols and potential admin assistance for data input and development of reports)
  • Assuring the delivery of HSW initiatives.
  • Developing training/presentations/briefing packages and deliver to appropriate target audience based on their role/responsibilities within the program.
  • Providing support to all teams and contractors to resolve any HSW technical and process issues may arise.
  • Working with respective functional managers for development of risk profile and strategies for mitigation.

You’ll Need To Have:

  • Technical knowledge and extensive experience in safety systems and railway programs.
  • Technical knowledge and experience in safety systems management and auditing (i.e. ISO 45001).
  • Accident/Incident analysis methods expertise.
  • Experience in developing and embedding health, safety & wellbeing management systems.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Canada labor code, occupational health and safety act, CROR and other relevant federal and provincial/states health & safety legislation.
  • Working knowledge of OHS policies, standards, legislation, and procedures pertaining to the industry.
  • Knowledge of the regional politic, economic, social and security context.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to share a clear vision and inspire others.
  • Positive attitude and enthusiasm.
  • Integrity, competence, cool, calm disposition.
  • Problem solver.
  • Time management and task prioritization skills.

You’ll Also Have:

  • Health & safety related degree or equivalent.
  • Experience in large scale program delivery in a construction environment.
  • Developing HSW integrated management systems.
  • Rail and infrastructure delivery experience.

“The estimated salary for this position is $125,000.
