Our firm values work/life balance and puts an emphasis on developing our people.Baker Tilly Ottawa LLP is looking to fill the position of Human Resources Coordinator, who, under the direction and guidance of the Director of Human Resources will work with the Human Resource team to support our people. We understand that our business thrives when our employees thrive.Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in developing and executing personnel procedures and policies and provide guidance and interpretation for business operations
  • Assist with the recruitment process by reviewing applications received, coordinating interviews, liaising with recruiting firms and agencies and performing reference checks
  • Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding and new-hire orientation including set up in human resources information system (HRIS) to ensure that we deliver an exceptional onboarding experience
  • Coordinate all departure procedures including groups of students who come and go for multiple work terms throughout the process of going through the CPA Professional Education Program
  • Maintain employee personnel files using Bamboo HR platform
  • Assist with performance management procedures using Bamboo HR platform
  • Produce and submit reports as required by the partners
  • Apply knowledge of employment standards
  • Exposure to payroll practices
  • Preparation of reporting to governing bodies regarding students going through the CPA process
  • Coordinate professional development events including registrations and making travel arrangements
  • Assist with the coordination of employee recognition programs
  • Assist in special projects as requested

A successful candidate will have:

  • Post secondary degree in human resources or related (essential)
  • 2 – 3 years of experience as an HR coordinator (essential)
  • Full understanding of HR functions and best practices
  • Experience with Bamboo HR Platform preferred
  • Sound judgment regarding confidential and sensitive matters
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient with various software programs including Microsoft Office Suite
  • HR Designation is considered an asset
  • Bilingualism (French and English) would be an asset
