  • Compliance Management (US and Canada):
  • Ensure company-wide compliance with labor laws and regulations in both the US and Canada.
  • Act as the go-to expert for all compliance-related matters, providing guidance and updates on HR best practices and legal requirements.
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with health and safety standards, data privacy, and employment laws.
  • Recruitment and Talent Acquisition (US and Canada):
  • Lead full-cycle recruitment across both US and Canadian operations, from job postings to interviews and offers.
  • Design and implement creative, effective recruitment strategies to attract top-tier talent.
  • Build a diverse talent pipeline through proactive sourcing, networking, and engagement with industry professionals.
  • Oversee the background check and reference verification process to ensure a rigorous and compliant hiring process.
  • Onboarding and Documentation:
  • Develop and enhance a comprehensive onboarding program that ensures new hires feel welcomed and prepared for success.
  • Streamline onboarding documentation and ensure compliance with legal requirements in both regions.
  • Collaborate closely with department managers and the Payroll team to ensure accurate and timely employee setup, including benefits enrollment.
  • Employee Relations and HR Operations:
  • Serve as a trusted partner for employees and leadership, offering counsel on employee relations issues and fostering a positive, inclusive work environment.
  • Track and report on key HR metrics such as turnover, time-to-hire, and employee engagement, using data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead initiatives that promote employee engagement, recognition, and retention, aligning with the company’s culture and goals.
  • Performance Management and Development:
  • Partner with department heads to guide performance management processes, including goal setting, appraisals, and feedback.
  • Identify opportunities for professional development and ensure employees have access to learning resources that support their growth.
  • Develop succession plans and career progression programs to cultivate internal talent.
  • HR Policy Development:
  • Create and maintain comprehensive, region-specific employee handbooks, ensuring clarity and alignment with evolving legal requirements.
  • Proactively recommend and implement improvements to HR policies, keeping pace with industry trends and company goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of HR management experience, with expertise in recruitment, compliance, and employee relations.
  • Strong knowledge of US and Canadian labor laws, HR best practices, and cross-border HR functions.
  • Proven ability to lead full-cycle recruitment, manage onboarding, and handle complex employee relations issues.
  • Experience collaborating with payroll, finance, and other departments to ensure seamless HR operations.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
