Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supporting General Counsel directly;
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating corporate letters, documents, agreements, including familiarity with construction contracts under CCDC standards;
  • Managing and providing comprehensive corporate support of/to subsidiaries; liaising where required with non-legal resources within subsidiaries involved in legal entity maintenance;
  • Administering pre-construction and construction documents;
  • Supporting legal counsel and construction managers;
  • Acting as a point of contact for construction managers and trades regarding legal and contractual questions;
  • Maintaining accurate documentation, organizing and updating legal documents and

producing memoranda to legal counsel on a variety of legal issues, as required;

  • Assisting legal counsel on all other legal duties/tasks, as required.

Requirements:– A law clerk or paralegal diploma or degree;

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in corporate commercial law, construction law or contract law;
  • Ability to manage complex contract structures including understanding contract performance, warranties, and cost management under a construction management agreement;
  • Proficiency in legal research;
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong Organizational and prioritization abilities;
  • Ability to manage a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment, and;
  • Proficiency of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Expected salary

$75000 per year
