Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supporting General Counsel directly;
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating corporate letters, documents, agreements, including familiarity with construction contracts under CCDC standards;
- Managing and providing comprehensive corporate support of/to subsidiaries; liaising where required with non-legal resources within subsidiaries involved in legal entity maintenance;
- Administering pre-construction and construction documents;
- Supporting legal counsel and construction managers;
- Acting as a point of contact for construction managers and trades regarding legal and contractual questions;
- Maintaining accurate documentation, organizing and updating legal documents and
producing memoranda to legal counsel on a variety of legal issues, as required;
- Assisting legal counsel on all other legal duties/tasks, as required.
Requirements:– A law clerk or paralegal diploma or degree;
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in corporate commercial law, construction law or contract law;
- Ability to manage complex contract structures including understanding contract performance, warranties, and cost management under a construction management agreement;
- Proficiency in legal research;
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills;
- Strong Organizational and prioritization abilities;
- Ability to manage a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment, and;
- Proficiency of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Expected salary
$75000 per year
