The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science invites applications for a continuing position at the rank of Instructor III. The successful candidate will support our Post-Diploma B.Sc. program in Computer Science at our Calgary Campus. The appointment will commence July 1, 2025 subject to budgetary approval.

We seek a scholar with a PhD in Computer Science or a closely related field. The successful candidate must have demonstrated teaching effectiveness at the university level and be comfortable with course preparation and delivery across diverse areas of Computer Science, particularly in our set of third- and fourth-year courses, in both in-person and online formats.

The candidate is expected to teach a subset of courses from the following topic areas: computer architecture, data structures and algorithms, introductory and advanced database management, graphics, artificial intelligence, cryptography, operating systems, software engineering, and the theory of programming languages. Opportunities also exist for curriculum development of an additional 3000- or 4000-level course in an area of interest.

Experience working in a satellite university undergraduate program is an asset. Additionally, as many of our courses are taught in a Linux environment, knowledge of Linux is an asset.

The successful candidate will also serve as the program co-ordinator for the Post-Diploma Program in Computer Science at the U of L Calgary Campus. We seek a candidate with experience in university program leadership and advocacy, including course timetabling, program promotion with local and regional diploma-granting institutions, and student advising and support in collaboration with faculty-level advising units.
