The Department of Physical Therapy in the College of Rehabilitation Sciences, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences (RFHS) at the University of Manitoba is seeking applications for two full time probationary positions in the rank of Instructor I/II or Senior Instructor beginning July 1, 2025, or as soon as mutually agreed upon. The Position
The successful candidate’s primary roles will be Master of Physical Therapy Clinical Coordinator and instructor. The Clinical Coordinator works under the direction of the Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education (ACCE) to recruit and develop relationships with clinical sites and instructors as well as coordinate and operationalize clinical placements. This includes identifying, developing, and supporting role-emerging, role-enhancing, and innovative clinical placement learning opportunities and providing mentorship and support for physical therapy clinical placement educators. Placements will include communities serving First Nations, Metis and Inuit peoples. In some instances, the clinical coordinator will also serve as the off-site physical therapy clinical placement educator for placements developed. The role of instructor entails course coordination, instruction, and student evaluation in the Master of Physical Therapy (MPT) program courses. The individual will be expected to use a land-based approach and teach a variety of basic and clinical skill courses in the Master of Physical Therapy entry to practice program

The College of Rehabilitation Sciences has a rich history of research, education and service to marginalized communities and is strategically working to provide highºquality graduate and undergraduate teaching and extend community outreach.

Department of Physical Therapy
The Department of Physical Therapy is located within a large health sciences campus and collaborates with the Colleges of dentistry, medicine, nursing, pharmacy within RFHS, as well as other faculties and departments of the University, notably Kinesiology and Recreation Management. The Department of Physical Therapy offers the Master of Physical Therapy entry-to practice program which is fully accredited with Physiotherapy Education Accreditation Canada, and is currently entering an exciting phase of faculty and curriculum renewal.

The Department of Physical Therapy works closely with professional organizations in Manitoba and with external partners who support work-integrated learning for students in community, hospital and primary care sites. It provides opportunities for strength-based, trauma informed interprofessional and interdisciplinary collaboration in health sciences research, private practice and education. This is an exceptional opportunity for a qualified individual to collaborate in interdisciplinary teaching and service alongside faculty with complementary and diverse expertise towards the ongoing success of the Department of Physical Therapy
Qualifications :
The successful candidate must:
– Have a Master’s degree beyond entry to practice
– Be eligible for licensure to practice on the active practice roster with the College of Physiotherapists of Manitoba, and be eligible for membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association
– Have a minimum of 3 years of Physiotherapy Clinical practise with consistent supervision of students in the clinical environment
– Have experience working with Indigenous clients and/or communities
Preference will be given to candidates who have:
– Experience with administration and leadership roles
– Demonstrated experience in a broad range of educational opportunities
– Course coordination experience
– Experience in formal, conventional teaching in a university setting
