PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

As an Instructor Training T&E at Canadian Pacific Kansas City, you will play a crucial role in delivering outstanding training to our client groups. This role is integral to the success of our training initiatives and involves maintaining accurate training records within our Learning Management System (LMS)

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Accountable for delivering training to client groups in support of business strategies and performance improvement targets for Operations as well as entering the training records into LMS for courses provided

  • Responsible for identifying and implementing course revisions based on policy or procedure changes

  • Assist in the development and delivery of training plans

  • Address emerging training issues for client groups and provide technical support as needed

  • Be able to be deployed once qualified and as the business requires

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Candidates with a high school/general equivalency diploma or equivalent experience are encouraged to apply, although post-secondary education is helpful

  • Minimum of 2 years’ operations experience

  • Understanding of Adult Education Principles and Instructional Design

  • Proven track record of outstanding safety as an operating employee

  • Knowledge of collective agreement issues related to training

  • In-depth experience in the T&E client group’s work and the ability to train other client groups

Pre-employment qualification drug test(s) are also required. This includes candidates participating in the Trainee Program who will also be required to pass a drug test during the training process before receiving final qualification for the position.

  • Driver’s License Verification

    Management Conductor Program:

    Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
