Position Purpose
Within the portfolio of the Office of the Vice-President, Research & Innovation, the Office of Animal Ethics & Compliance is responsible for supporting research teams at the University of Ottawa and its affiliated research institutes in the humane and ethical use of animals in scientific activities, while ensuring such matters are in alignment with regulatory requirements established by national and provincial level regulatory agencies. Reporting to the Director, Animal Ethics & Compliance (AEC), the Protocol Analyst, Animal Ethics provides significant content and process expertise to support preparation, submission, review and on-going administration of animal care and use applications submitted by the research community for review by the institutional Animal Care Committee (ACC) in accordance with internal and external regulatory standards.
