Grow your career with a company that inspires and empowers you to deliver your best work so you can evolve, grow, and succeed – today and into tomorrow. When it comes to environmental consulting, we’re focused on cleaning up our communities today to improve tomorrow. We’re looking for a mid-career Quantitative Hydrogeologist for one of Jacobs’ Ontario offices to work on site characterization and remediation projects for government and private-sector clients.
You’ll work on exciting environmental and water resource projects that involve subsurface characterization, analytical and numerical groundwater modeling, soil and groundwater remediation, water supply reliability, water well design, groundwater-surface water interactions, climate adaptation, managed aquifer recharge, aquifer storage and recovery, and subsurface drainage for clients located throughout the world. There will also be a limited amount of work at project sites performing or overseeing groundwater sampling or completing groundwater investigations. In your role, you’ll work with experienced engineers and project managers who will help you grow your environmental consulting career at a place like no other, a company that is invested in you and the environment around us.
You’ll gain valuable field experience with soil, groundwater, and surface water sampling, as well as drilling and subcontractor oversight and aquifer testing. However, much of your time will be spent working with project teams to provide decision support for interesting groundwater-related projects. Examples of such activities include, but are not limited to, interpretation and visualization of data, groundwater flow and transport modeling, report writing, coordinating logistics for field activities, preparing content for technical presentations, developing scripts to facilitate data management and analysis, and working collaboratively with technical experts and clients to find the right solutions to their groundwater challenges.
Bring your positive outlook and we will help grow what drives you – solving complex environmental and water resource problems, together.
Bachelor’s degree in hydrogeology, geology, groundwater hydrology, environmental engineering, civil engineering, or water resources engineering with a groundwater emphasis.
You must have a minimum of 3 years of consulting experience in the hydrogeological and environmental field.
Knowledge and experience with various media (soil, groundwater, surface water and sediment) investigations and assessments.
Experience with hydrogeological data assessment and evaluation, and report writing.
Familiarity with subsurface contaminant transport processes.
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
Ideally, you’ll also have
4 to 10 years of hydrogeological consulting experience.
Master’s degree in hydrogeology, geology, groundwater hydrology, environmental engineering, civil engineering, or water resources engineering with a groundwater emphasis.
Professional Geologist (P. Geo.) or Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) or the ability to obtain the license after gaining enough professional experience.
Strong computer skills with analytical and quantitative skills.
Experience working with ArcGIS software.
Experience with groundwater model software (MODFLOW, Groundwater Vistas, etc.).
Knowledge of a computer programming language, such as Python.
