Job Description:We are seeking an experienced Information Technology Manager to oversee and manage the technology infrastructure for a key organization based in the Edmonton region. This role encompasses supporting the primary company and its network of associated entities, covering all aspects of IT systems, data management, communications, and organizational security. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless operation of IT systems, driving innovation, and aligning technology solutions with the overall business goals.Key Responsibilities1. IT Operations Management
- Oversee daily IT operations, including the deployment, maintenance, and support of IT systems, networks, hardware, and software across all companies.
- Monitor organizational IT needs, researching solutions and implementing robust, cost-effective technology strategies.
- Manage end-user services, including help desk support and incident resolution.
2. Project Development and Leadership
- Develop project plans, manage timelines, and ensure the successful delivery of IT initiatives.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to IT staff, fostering an environment of growth and development.
- Act as the liaison between business stakeholders and the IT department to identify and deliver solutions that align with business objectives.
- Ensure the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for IT initiatives.
3. Security and Risk Management
- Implement and maintain security procedures to safeguard data, assets, and network access.
- Collaborate with risk management teams to ensure that Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP) align with organizational needs.
- Conduct audits and monitoring to identify vulnerabilities and implement corrective measures.
4. Strategic Planning and Financial Oversight
- Plan IT operations and strategies, emphasizing resource optimization and innovation.
- Oversee financial aspects of the IT department, including budgeting, expenditure tracking, and cost reviews.
- Prepare cost/benefit analyses and present justifications for investments in technology upgrades or enhancements.
5. Vendor and Contract Management
- Negotiate contracts with vendors, outsourcers, and consultants.
- Manage vendor relationships to ensure the delivery of services aligns with expectations.
6. Technology Implementation and Maintenance
- Ensure the efficient implementation, monitoring, and upgrades of IT systems, both existing and new, across multiple business units.
- Stay informed on emerging technologies and assess their potential benefits to the organization.
- Lead the IT team’s efforts to ensure systems adhere to policies related to architecture, security, disaster recovery, and service delivery.
7. Team Development and Collaboration
- Recruit, supervise, and assess IT staff performance, maintaining alignment between team output and organizational objectives.
- Foster collaboration across departments to ensure IT initiatives are positioned to impact organizational results positively.
8. Other Duties
- Perform additional tasks as assigned to support operational and strategic goals.

QualificationsEducation & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (required).
- Additional certification (e.g., MCSE) is considered an asset.
Experience
- 10+ years in IT leadership roles with extensive experience in managing IT infrastructure, strategies, and teams.
- 2-4 years of experience in Network Administration or Domain Administration is preferred.
- Proven success in change management, project delivery, and strategic IT alignment.
Technical Expertise
- Advanced knowledge of data governance, data center management, and IT system architecture.
- Hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining computer networks and installing various IT systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (intermediate skills in Word and Excel required).
Communication and Soft Skills
- Fluent in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, inspire collaboration, and foster professional growth.
Compliance and Clearances
- Must successfully pass a credit check, criminal background check, education verification, and employment reference check.
