Your safety is our number one priority!Are you seeking an opportunity to work in a remote picturesque environment?Job Requirements:MATRIX is currently seeking a Janitor to work on a rotational basis at our MLA Camp (Bathurst Inlet, Nunavut). If you are a team oriented, motivated person with a keen eye for detail, you may just be the fit we are looking for. You will play a key role at one of our remote camps. This position reports to the Camp Manager. Start date is mid-January 2025 for this position.Responsibilities include:
- Inventory of all cleaning supplies and paper products related to office/showers/toilet facilities
- Perform tasks according to safe work practices and safe job procedures.
- Report all incidents and accidents immediately.
- Practice good housekeeping in the work area at all times.
- Participate in daily Toolbox meetings and complete daily log.
- Cleaning and sanitizing of all toilet and shower facilities;
- Servicing Pacto toilets, and helping package for incineration.
- Sweeping and mopping of all floors in toilet and shower facilities;
- Administration of waste and recycling management program
- Wash, dry and replace bed linens as required.
- Take garbage to dump
- Clean common spaces at work site, TV room, dining room, laundry room, rec room
- Support First cook with cleaning in kitchen as required.
- Assist with receiving of groceries
- Preventative maintenance on kitchen equipment
- Participate in Mock Medivac scenarios
Qualifications:
- Team player, good interpersonal skills
- Must be acutely safety minded
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office
- Detail oriented
- Valid class 5 driver’s license and clean drivers abstract are an asset.
- OFA Level 1 first aid an asset
- Legally able to work in Canada
- 1-2 Seasons working in a remote camp setting is required.
This position works on a 3 week in / 3 week out rotation (Fully Remote).
