Join Our Team as a Project Planning Prime – Drive Innovation in R&D Lab Operations. The role will be onsite full-time, and ideally starting in early January 2026.

At Ciena, we are seeking a Project Planning Prime to be the central point of contact for lab customers, ensuring seamless coordination, optimal system deployment, and adherence to schedules. How You Will Contribute:

• Collaborate with R&D teams to collect and validate equipment requirements, ensuring alignment with critical development schedules.
• Manage equipment ordering, leveraging redeployment opportunities for efficiency.
• Engineer infrastructure solutions for new deployments, adhering to lab standards.
• Optimize space utilization for equipment deployment, ensuring functionality and efficiency.
• Conduct regular meetings to monitor, report, and ensure projects remain on schedule.
• Oversee project and program maintenance requirements continuously.
• Maintain accurate records of all support requests and project details.

The Must Haves:

• 5+ years of experience in an R&D customer support organization.
• In-depth knowledge of R&D lab environments.
• College diploma or equivalent work experience.
• Proficiency in Optical Communications equipment.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to work independently and self-start.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with Ciena products.
• Expertise in JIRA, Confluence, and Office 365 for project management and documentation.

Pay Range:

The annual pay range for this position is $65, 500 – $104,600

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
