Research focuses on advancing occupational science, the impact of occupational therapy on health and well-being, and teaching/learning effectiveness. We enjoy a wide variety of scholarly and interdisciplinary activities in the Faculty of Medicine and the University.Reporting to the Head of the UBC Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy, the successful candidate will engage in teaching both theory and clinical practice skills courses using diverse methods and online learning tools, participate in course planning, curriculum development, and engage in student evaluation in the Master of Occupational Therapy Program. The incumbent will participate in administrative and service activities, such as departmental and university committees. The successful applicant will join a stellar academic community and contribute to developing the next generation of occupational therapists.The successful candidate must hold a minimum of a Master of Occupational Therapy, be eligible for registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC) as an occupational therapist, and be a member of the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists – BC (CAOT-BC). In addition, the candidate must have at least five years of recent practice experience as an occupational therapist, including clinical teaching in mental health and physical disability across the lifespan. The applicant must have a minimum of 3 years teaching in an academic setting that may include curriculum development, and preparing, delivering and evaluating lecture and laboratory content in a Masters of Occupational Therapy program. In addition, the successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and interact with empathy, understanding and, respect of diverse perspectives. Experience in collaborating and bringing forward projects with diverse groups, including colleagues, students, and/or stakeholders, is valued.The expected salary for this position is $69,525 -$92,700 per annum. Salary will be commensurate with level of educational preparation and experience, and the FTE.
