You love working in a collaborative team environment, but also enjoy your autonomy to accomplish tasks and provide excellent service to our dental professionals and their teams.Located at Dentalcorp’s Toronto Support Centre, you will be responsible for conducting legal research, overseeing legal matters relating to privacy and health law. You will provide support across a broad range of issues required by our partners, dentists, dental office staff and cross-functional departments. As a proactive advisor to the business, you will ensure regulatory changes are anticipated and best practices implemented. Your dedication to our practices’ success will drive you to ensure they always receive high quality support and guidance.In this role, you will be responsible for

  • Supporting cross-functional departments as they turn regulatory challenges into opportunities.
  • Providing support to help the company grow sustainably, and ethically.
  • Reviewing provincial standards, bylaws, and legislation, from coast to coast, to advise a broad range of stakeholders on regulatory matters and pertinent legal issues.
  • Helping dental professionals avoid and respond to informal and formal regulatory complaints, drafting releases and assisting with other correspondence.
  • Identifying and actively managing claims to prevent lawsuits and minimize liability.
  • Working closely with our Marketing department, to ensure compliance with all applicable advertising regulations.
  • Liaising with external regulatory and governmental bodies to ensure ongoing compliance in a shifting regulatory landscape.
  • Coordinating with our network of dental practices to ensure that day to day business activities adhere to Dentalcorp’s compliance program and local standards.

What we’re looking for

  • A member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario, with a university degree in law (LLB or JD) and an L1 License to practice law in Ontario.
  • 2+ years’ experience as a Lawyer in a regulatory body, multi-location corporation and the Health care industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written/oral communication and time management skills.
  • Early adopter of legal technology who is up to date with benefits of using AI.
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, meet legally mandated timelines, and handle multiple demands simultaneously.
  • Creative problem solver.
  • Excellent analytical and research skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously with excellent judgment.
  • A team-player who is comfortable and effective in an environment where there are varied stakeholders asking for assistance.
  • Bilingual French/English is an asset.
