Job Requirement:Our client is a leading international business law and litigation firm, recognized as a best employer in 2023, and they are seeking a Legal Assistant with Commercial Lending and Real Estate experience to work in their – surrey office, which is located close to Station Tower station.Role OverviewThe Legal Assistant will support the Wills, Estates, and Corporate Law practice groups by providing essential clerical and administrative assistance. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a commitment to confidentiality and discretion.Key Responsibilities
- Handle administrative duties such as email and calendar management, coordinating meetings, preparing engagement letters, and routine correspondence.
- Maintain and manage a bring-forward system with timely reminders.
- Ensure physical and electronic filing systems are organized and up to date.
- Liaise with Billing Coordinators to ensure the timely production of monthly accounts.
- Provide backup coverage in the absence of other assistants or team members.
- Conduct conflict searches, open files, complete client identification/verification, and prepare retainer letters.
- Perform basic online searches (e.g., Wills registry, municipal tax, corporate registry, land title office).
- Assist with organizing and maintaining estate, trust, and corporate documents and records.
- Communicate with clients and potential clients to collect information, schedule meetings, and respond to inquiries.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Completion of a post-secondary Legal Assistant or Paralegal course.
- A minimum of 3+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably within Wills, Estates, or Corporate Law.
- Familiarity with BC Online, BC Registries, MyLTSA, and ALF is an asset.
- Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office 365.
- Experience with 3E, iManageWork, and DocuSign.
- Large firm experience is preferred.

- Strong understanding of business and legal terminology.
- Client service mindset with a “can do” attitude.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
